On Friday, Alli had her Fall Party at school. They played wrap the mummy, read some books about pumpkins, made a pumpkin craft out of construction and tissue paper, and got to decorate pumpkin shaped cookies with icing and sprinkles (thanks, Mrs. Theresa!) while wearing their costumes...although some of them ditched the costumes pretty quickly. The kids had a great time, but I think her teacher was probably ready for the day to be over with.
Friday night, James and I went to vote and then we opted to go home, eat dinner, and spend a more relaxing night at home passing out candy to the trick or treaters. It was really nice weather outside so we all went and sat on the front porch while Alli and Madi greeted everyone and passed out candy in their cheerleader suits. Normally, the Fall Festival at church is the same night as Halloween so we don't pass out candy, but since we had already had the Fall Festival earlier in the week, we got to do that this year. We had way more trick or treaters than we had predicted and ended up going through two big bags of candy, but it was fun, and fortunately I had bought that spare bag!

You mean you didn't keep any candy for yourself? We had trick or treaters after we stood out on our porch. Then we ran out of candy and had to just ignore the doorbell...I know...more candy next year! `vonda
