Fall Festival

Wednesday night was the Fall Festival at church. The girls went as Baylor cheerleaders. I think we counted 7 girls in total that were dressed as Baylor cheerleaders. Go figure at a Baptist church in Waco, Texas. Actually, I don't remember anyone choosing that option in the past. I guess we all had the same great idea this year! They had hot dogs, 3 different kinds of inflatable slides/bounce house/obstacle courses, a hay ride, marshmallow roasting pit, BINGO, face painting, a bake walk, and a ring toss. Alli had a great time, and although Madi isn't really old enough to enjoy all the activities yet, she had a good time crawling around and playing with her friend Larkin from the nursery. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put it together!

Madi's on the Move

Yes, it has finally happened...Madi is mobile...and the world will never be the same. We were beginning to think that she would walk before she crawled since she hates being on her belly so badly, but she did finally begin to crawl several weeks ago. She has no problem pulling herself up once she arrives at her desired location or standing and walking along beside the furniture, and she is quickly getting better at taking steps with assistance. Let's just say her mobility has changed our lives and earned her the nickname "Dennis the Menace" at our house. She has already gotten into more things in the past three weeks than Alli has in 5 1/2 years, and she just gives us that big dimply grin while she does it. It's hard to think that two children from the same gene pool could be so opposite, but God has a sense of humor I'm telling you.

Pumpkin Patch

We went with Nana and Papa to the Pumpkin Patch this past weekend. If you live in the Central Texas area and have young children, I would recommend it. They have a hay ride, pumpkin painting, dress the farmer, a hay maze, a large pile of hay for the kids to jump and play in (take the Benadryl along), duck races, games, food, and of course, a good selection of pumpkins as well as plenty of photo ops. It's called The Silo Christmas Tree Farm and is off of Hwy 36 between Gatesville and Temple. We all had a good time and enjoyed the wonderful Fall weather we are having.

While reading the blogs of friends and family, I thought it would be a good idea for us to try and do the same. I don't how many people actually care what all we're doing, but it's a good way for me to chronicle the events going on in our lives since I don't seem to be able to keep up with my scrapbooking any more. Anyway, I've been trying to get a blog together for some time now, but I just never seemed to be able to get all the pieces together. I just decided to go for it, and get something out there. I'll try to tweak it as I go along. Now that I've got the basics together, surely I can keep it updated, right? Okay, maybe not, but I'm going to give it a shot. Stay tuned!
